-A hero with special powers (or hidden powers).

-A bitch that follows him around, and they both inwardly like each other.

-Long, drawn out "thought" frames, where they pan the camera slightly and we hear the character's thoughts (this, by the way, is to save money).

-About ten episodes of climactic build up; it takes absolutely forever for anything to be accomplished

-The usual unoriginal drawing style (eyes, lots of exaggeration)

Your rant is based on stereotypes and ignorance over the medium. You obviously haven't watched all that much anime, and most, if not all of it is stuff like Naruto and Bleach, that are Shonen "boys anime", namely, targetted for kids.

You have the right to not like anime, but spouting ignrant idiotic opinions and stating them as facts is just plain stupid.

So basically, you hate one part of one media-form. Ahh, to be young and shallow again.

I used to hate American TV until I discovered stuff like The Wire. now I can see that as a whole, American TV is FUCKING AWESOME when applied in a particular way - when its budget and talent is applied to realism, interesting subjects in a solid cogent narrative and a willingness to pull no punches. Or Historical drama, or other semi-intellectual projects.

Same thing applies to anime - the reason being it is an expansive story-telling form much akin to Live Action, the different being it's animated in 2D (which leads to large quantities of seperate shows, but with less actual time in them). For every shitty show like Naruto and Yu-Gi-Oh, you have Ergo Proxy, Paranoia Agent, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Ghost Hound - genuine TV shows that deal with Philosophy, Politics, Psychology, Neurology, Mysticism etc. in a more in-depth way. If you were the average Weeaboo, you would probably call such shows "boring".

You do not speak as an experienced watcher of anime, you only speak as someone who has seen a horrendously small section of it at face value and made the decision to dislike it. Your audience consists of people who have done the exact same as you or knew nothing beforehand anyway. So what the hell is the point in making such lists of empty bile when all it amounts to is a big circlejerk of angry impulsive rhetoric - anyone with the ability to be swayed one way or the other about "anime" would mark you as immature and a bad campaigner, if they had any sense.

Normally, I would go into some kind of rant on how you're really just focusing on the shonen style of anime and manga, but I won't go that far beyond a few key comments:

- A good deal of anime and manga do not follow the ridiculous standard of garbage churned out as a copy of Dragon Ball Z or most things that have been on Adult Swim in the past few years. You could take a look at Cowboy Bebop, Slayers, Fooly Cooly, or even Fullmetal Alchemist. Most of those titles are recognized as classics for a reason. In twenty years, practically no one will remember stupid shit like Code Geass or Death Note.

- The industry of anime HAS become bloated in recent years. It's become more about pleasing the young male demographic than creating a deep storyline for most; however, the deeper series AREstill there.

- Most anime series take so long to get anywhere because they are based on a manga that was created in a weekly format. Having to meet deadlines does not encourage a writer to just churn out all of his best ideas at once. Then again, there are shorter bits of anime to grasp your attention only for a few episodes and then leave you to wander (i.e. Afro Samurai, FLCL).

- Evangelion. Let me tell you about it. The god damned stupid series is popular for a REASON, and that reason is that it appeals to the sense of identity that is constantly a problem for Japanese youths. You hear a lot of stories about shut-ins killing themselves, a lot of them anime fans (mainly in Japan). Many series like this are very popular because they appeal to men and women who have a hard time becoming a functioning part of society.

- I don't see nearly as many western series lasting as long as most anime. Batman? Batman's had more facelifts than Joan Rivers and Michael Jackson combined. Superman? I guess he was popular for a while, but that got shitcanned, too. Most modern western series died out in the late 90's because they couldn't cope with a changing attitude of youth in America. Because anime is constantly changing, there is always some facet of it that will appeal to teenagers. As much as I dislike Naruto and other ridiculous examples of animation, they have far outshone anything that Marvel or DC has provided in the televised realm.

- Posting an audio rant by a man who is a known and declared furry doesn't really help your case against another subculture. Not that I have anything against furries, but he comes off as rather unstable.
